This archive of written and visual art is from Anne Heeney's residency in the Wallace Stegner House in 2010. Anne says "The Eastend experience allowed me a chance to paint again en plein air". It was clearly a productive residency. The archive is enclosed in a 12 X 10 X 3" clear folder which contains:

  • 19 watercolour paintings (4.25 X 6.25")
  • 2 watercolours of Frenchman River and Pine Cree (11.25 X 8.25")
  • 14 graphite, colour pencil or ballpoint drawings (6.25 X 8.25")
  • 1 acrylic painting on canvasboard: Red Rock (7 X 9")
  • 3 matted acrylic studies on mixed media paper (8 X 10")
  • 2 collaged watercolours on "35 mm filmstrip rubber stamp" mounted on watercolour paper: Musee and Eastend (4 X 6" and 8.5 X 10.5")
  • Journal entries with textual descriptions of work done at each painting site
  • Heeney Haibun / Haiki - 11 pages

This loon was meticulously hand-carved from tupelo wood by award-winning carver Duane Bristow.

It measures approximately 11 inches in length by 5 inches wide.

Duane has been carving for 25 years. His main focus has been waterfowl and song birds. He also carves a variety of love spoons, bark carving and Christmas decorations.

This stained glass piece of art consists of 4 separate stained glass pieces set into an old barnboard window frame. 20.5" wide by 23.5" tall. A personal favorite of the artist's, a photo just does not do justice to the real creation. The wooden window frame came from a barn in the Crowsnest Pass. The stained glass panels were some of the earliest designs by the artist.
